"Painting has allowed me to embark on a journey into self-discovery. Each work represents a different stage on this journey, a constant exploration of my psyche, my emotions and the experiences that have shaped my existence. I like to experiment with variety of mediums on various surfaces like fabric and wood (when not painting on canvas), in order to obtain a very organic texture in my paintings. I mix the colors right on the canvas and proceed to paint with the use a palette knife. I allow gravity to take part in the completion of my works by letting the fresh paint to drip. This lets me witness the effect that nature can have in my creations. I don't think about how a painting should look painting before starting it, instead I allow the emotion and the urge of that moment to be released onto a surface." Franck de Las Mercedes

  • Art. it has no beginning. Each existance destined. Art. it has an end, when completed. Art. has purpose. Art calls. Demanding attention, a reaction. Art awakens sleeping anger, hurt, and fear. Art reveals confusion and questions that need to be unwound. Art. It affects our very breath. A gasping shock. A burst of laughter. Or it takes our breath away. Leaving us emotionally naked ....as we stand in awe. (Your video has been inspiring).

  • I like your work you have a great expression of bringing out the colors in a not so bold method.

  • There is a child-like quality to some of your paintings, very difficult to achieve as we tend to overwork more often than not.
