Bench Testing Probes: Sun Ray, Pistol Probe and Vibra Probe

Sun ray probe uses your detectors setting IE discrimination so it will only find what your detecting for. Another words if you have iron rejected the sun ray probe will also reject it. All other pin pointers sound off on all metal. My sun-ray goes at least 4 inches depending on what my sensitivity is set at. I would take the sun ray any day over another 2 inches from the pistol metal detector...opps meant pistol probe any day. JMHO

I bought the pistol probe and ended up returning it. The activation button was a pain to activate as it needed like 10 lbs of pressure to turn on. I must have rec'd a bad one cause strenght is not as issue as I have a vice grip. My wife couldn't even get it to turn on. I went to the nearest Harbor Freight and bought a 17.00 pinpointer (made by Cen Tek) which works great. I'm going to give the Garrette a chance.

Thanks to videos like this,I bought the PistolProbe.This wasn't the only video I watched.I watched a few others on youtube.It is really great.Costs a little more,but worth it.PI is tough to beat for depth.Some of the other pointer probes you had to be almost touching the coin to get a reading.

Thanks to your videos, I have ordered the Pistol Pobe, and it looks fu..ing good, I had in mind the Garrett, but changed my order :-)

But I have the Garrett AT Pro detector and that my friend, is a good one.

would like to see a test on the garrett super wand would it detect a coin from the top of the grass to about 6 or 7 inches down in the ground. I am thinking of buying one if it can go deeper than the pistol probe.

If the pistol probe was smaller and didn't look like a gun plus auto tuning they would sell a lot more. One of the reasons the Propointer is great is there is no tuning to do. The biggest problem is the Propointer and the 14.7 Whites machines cross talk too much. This is why I use the Sunrays on my Whites.

If you tune the white's correctly you will get 3". But I now own both White's and the Pistol. Thanks,

I bought a Pistol Probe because of your earlier video. I cannot imagine metal detecting without it. Best buy ever.
