@Toojdwin Amen. Had Monk been around today, he probably never would have landed a recording contract. Or, the music industry would have treated Monk like a Wesley Willis. . . like some kind of Lollapalooza side freak show to be exploited.

@kundalinisw: Often it's that little touch of madness that adds the element that makes for visionary genius--as has been the case with many great artists. But in Monk's case it got worse with time and eventually rendered him dysfunctional. A sad end to a great talent.
