  • Excuse me, why are you using the washer? Would not be easier and much more effective than pressing with that thing using your hands washing them in a bathtub or washtub? I think doing so it is not effective as all the wool that is in the bottom is not moved enough to be washed if you're using that thing.......

I would wash the wool in my bathtub and then I would put it in 2 pillow cases and spin in the washer, the wool could stuck in the pump!!! I would use 2 pillow cases for balance spin....

  • @MrFreddy2189 Because in that house - I did not have a bathtub. I only had a shower. :)

  • hi I was wondering why no one using a washer never lets the washer fill it self.i use the washer to fill i juast leave the lid open and after fill stops. Thanks for listening nelson.

  • @andypanda758 I've done that, but the water doesn't fill as quickly or get as hot as when I fill it with a hose. So I use a hose because (1) it's faster and (2) it's hotter. However, a more modern washing machine may not have these problems. :)

  • I'm worried that washing raw wool in my machine will wreck it. I have 3 teens who wash cloths every other day so we need our machine. Do you think it's OK to use it for both purposes? Thanks for a great video.

  • @tthorn45 You can also your use bathtub to wash wool. :)

  • I tried the washing machine and got really too rough. Now I wash it in the river with Ariel

  • I s the soap you in the washing a generic type of Dawn? It looked like maybe you were using a sun brand. I had also heard to use a Suave scented hair shampoo. I can see where a Dawn type product would be a degreasing agent. Great video

  • Cheryl - can any of this be done in a high efficiency front loader? Could you put the wool into lingerie bags? Thanks in advance for an answer

  • Thank you!!! Very good info for a novice wool grower. We have 10 navajo churro sheep. Next spring I will be washing wool in my machine! Cheryl Thanks again for your information.

  • EXCELLENT! THANKS

  • Great video Thanks

I am not into spinning, are there any other uses for alpaca fleece?
