When an unsupervised toddler accidentally drives his parents' jeep into a pond, he is trapped underwater for over 20 minutes. This segment was taken from Episode 622, "Miracle Rescues" themed episode, which aired on May 2, 1995 on CBS.

Why would you not call 911 right away. Time is very crucial when someone is underwater.

I would have done the same thing. In that situation, I think it would be better to have everyone who could swim looking for the child. They lived so far out in the country that it would have taken the ambulance too long to get there anyway, and calling 911 would have increased the time the child was underwater.

it goes like this if u drove a jeep into a pond but u jumped out before it got in ur family would be mad at you but if u drove into the pond and almost die then they wont be mad

I think what you and your husband did was great. a lot of people couldn't have saved him. That water looked deep and murky to me. I think you both are hero's!

For the record, my sister NEVER left her keys in an unattended car. At the very least someone could have come by and stolen the car. Then you have nothing to get around in.
