For some reason UG did not accept my tab for this. E-mail me J@PeaceLoveandGuitars.com I think Hammond SMOKES (i.e. chops his head) Clapton on this open tuning resonator stuff.

  • I have to disagree. I love his voice especially on this performance.

  • Killer version of this on his great latest cd 'Rough and Tough'

  • I have Rough and Tough. It's not on there. What is is "My Mind Is Ramblin" which I think Hammond himself wrote. This is a Roberst Johnson song.

  • Great stuff! I wish i could find a full version of this song!

  • You can hear Clapton do it on YT. Personally I think Hammond's version is better.

  • This doco turned me on to JHJ - hes awesome, really throws himself into his blues

  • he's an underrated guitarist. i think he's really a good player... but not a great vocalist.

  • i love to see him play and sing as solo. much more than with band.

  • @JRobson1955 it could be hammond covering junior kimbrough who was an excellent blues writer. The best version I have heard of this song is by the black keys.. definitely worth a listen.

reply if im right.. i would love to get that cd.

  • The first version I heard of this song was by Dave "Snaker"Ray in the 60's. I started listening to Hammond when he had 1 album out on Vanguard (still have that one). Hammond, Koerner, Ray, and Glover (and others) turned me on to many blues masters in that mid 60's period.

  • @JRobson1955 Almost always the case as I hear it
