The Ten Minute Traditional Wet Shave

Mantic59, i have to thank you for your video's i have just literally had the best shave of my life, my face is the best it has ever been. I have also bought the tools to do the job, Badger brush, traditional shave soap with bowl, Merkur safety razor and some Tend skin, incase of irritation. I actually look forwards to shaving now, so thank god for someone like you.

is this the glycerin shave soap that van der hagen makes or is it just the shave soap?

What is a shaving soap? Is it your soap meant for shaving or is it's purpose meant for shaving?

finnsia- Yes, its a soap specifically made for shaving (but you could use it to wash your face too if you wanted).

mantic maybe im not rubbing the shave soap long enough but i dont think i get a good enough lather like you im still a novice when it comes to traditional shaving

I have read that alcohol free after shave/ cooling gel is best to avoid potential irritation. Since alcohol kills germs what is the purpose of using the after shave then? Is there a difference between after shave & cooling gel? I usually use lotion on my face after shaving because I wash my face with soap everyday which dries it up. Would you recommend that I use after shave or a cooling gel before before using lotion or use one & not the other? Great vids appreciate the eduction.

Your soap is way better than mine! Mine is so thin it dries before I get to the other side of my face. I use Colonel Conk Almond soap.
