Vintage film footage of Riley Elementary School in Frankfort Indiana taken back in the 1940s. Footage includes a Dog Show which was taken at Rohrabaugh Field along with a graduation ceremony for the students.

Riley Elementary School was built back in the 1920s and closed in May of 2008. As of the time of this video posting, July 22nd, 2008 Riley is slated for demolition by late summer of this year.
Will it be saved or will Frankfort loose another historic building?

  • I am currently working on a tribute video to Riley and Kyger schools. I will be getting some old photos from Riley soon to put into the video. You will like this video once it is done but it will be a few weeks before it is completed.

  • @shaboomers I swear that when I was in school at Riley in the 80's that we buried a time capsule somewhere in the field. Has anyone said anything about time capsules? I'm interested in seeing if they are there!

  • It's very cool you have this. I really enjoyed watching it. I sent it on to my Parents to see if they recognize anyone. Thanks for sharing. I agree, it's a shame to tear it down.
