well...! lol you could always check out my videos, i have some info there for you on how to custom create your own hotwire foam cutters.
I bet with something as small as a hand cutter, you could get away with just a standard plug-in DC converter.
If i get some time over the next week or so, I'll create plans for a mini-cutter for you :)
Let me know if you want!

That's awesome work.
One thing I've been warned about is using the hot wire on that white foam. The fumes are quite toxic. Moreso than the pink or blue foam. This could off though but just be careful especially if you have kids close by.
Again, nice work and design!
Cheers

Thanks Phosphoros! Yup, I do have a little one here so need to think about the dust and fumes I'm making. The spare bedrrom *was* my hobby room until he took it over ;]

Dude..... awesome.
If you had a smaller hot wire cutter, next to an open window with a small clip desk fan, I bet you'd be able to send those fumes on their way.
BUT, you do a great job with that knife :)

I just cut the steps out for all the pieces and a little hand-held hot wire would have halved the time it took. I'll have to look out for a video tutorial on making one. We did have a fan... think the wife tidied it away...
