"Heartaches" was composed in 1931 by Al Hoffman and John Clenner. The first hit recording of it was by the Ted Weems Orchestra in 1933 with Elmo Tanner performing one of the most famous whistles in recording history. Patsy recorded "Heartaches" as part of her last studio album, "Sentimentally Yours", released in August of 1962.

  • How come she seems stronger than her songs?

  • @424242zz Now that's an interesting comment, but keep in mind you are listening to one of the most forceful and distinctive female voices of the 20th Century. She was dynamite!

  • @MrGretajean I am 35 years old and I was raised by a young mother and grandmother. My grandmothers sister was also alive and they all turned me on to this music, and I understand what you mean about how you bond with the music. My grandmother passed in 2002 from congestive heart failure and so did her sister 2 years ago. I REALLY can relate to your comment and how much it means.

  • My mom raised me most of her life and I always gave her a hard time..Every time she played Patsy and Nat King Cole..I thought they are for the older crowd..As time progress, I got older and mom (passed away from breast cancer, diagnosed 3 times) no longer with me I started appreciated her music and understanding what they meant..Now that I 'm 48 yrs old, I really miss her and the bond of music she brought into my life...Appreciate your loved ones because they won't be there before you know it.

  • @5inthehole

Nobody better, but try Mandy Barnett, star of "Always, Patsy Cline".

Oh, but this is soooo good!

  • One of my all time Fav's

  • Tell me you heard a better female vocalist and I'll call you a lier. What a voice and what a lost it must have been to all Country N Western fans in 1963.

  • Fantastic song by fantastic singer. Thanks for posting.

  • Floyd Cramer on piano.
