  • Gotta love that kick-ass guitar section during the closing theme!

  • The theme is based on a cut on Merv Griffin's "Escape" album called "Samba de la Noche" - but this version used on the air is much better.

  • this is why he left tic tac dough what a shame

  • Wish this would come out in the clear i want this theme!

  • @tnawcwvictoria Hey don't forget Dance Fever as well.

  • @tnawcwvictoria You do know Wink was already famous before HC, right?

  • Merv Griffin Enterprises A Unit of The Coca-Cola Company and Columbia Pictures Entertainment

Merv has made alot of people famous:

Art Fleming, Alex Trebek, Bob Bergen, Jeff Probst, Chuck Woolery, Pat Sajak, Rolf Benirschke, Bob Goen, Wink Martindale, Mike Reilly, Ryan Seacrest, Susan Stafford, Vanna White and Summer Bartholomew

God Bless Merv Griffin and Thank You for giving us not only Headline Chasers, but also JEOPARDY!, Super JEOPADRY, Wheel of Fortune, Monopoly and Click

    R.I.P. Merv

  • The most a contestant could win in one show is 2100 in round one, plus 2000 in round two, plus 5600 in round three, and double their money on the final question, plus win 5000 in the bonus for $24400

  • The guitar playing part of the music has to be Santana since it was improvised and how it was beautifully played.

  • @palmercomm Merv did not stab Wink in the back at any time. The stations airing a syndicated program themselves control the time slots, not the production company or the distributor.

  • @jwgreek8606 In addition, from 1990 to 1995, and for a brief time in 2000, he simultaneously announced on "Supermarket Sweep."

  • I like this theme it is so relaxing.
