Now just some grease for those hinges!

dont use closed cell it will cause dor to stick dont use door sweep in will drag on your carpet and damage it

what do you do when the door is un-even in the jam? double up on the stripping?

Thanks SO much! This works great for our exterior door, as we live in Western Oregon. I feel better about doing this myself, and knowing that I did it right. It seems simple now, but there are remnants of old weatherstripping (kind of covered with paint) in three different places on the doorway, NONE as described here !
OK, I admit it -- the most recent is mine. :)

Great walk through on HOW TO.
I loved that idea of STICKY weather sealing on the door sweep instead of screws!
Instead of plastic on the windows this year, I did SEAL& PEAL from DAP.
It applies like regular caulking but it can be pealed off within 1 year without hurting the paint! It peals off like a long booger! *newly panted apartment!*
WEAR GLOVES! I smeared it with my finger then my finger went numb for 3 days!
I applied it EVERYWHERE! I can feel the difference already!
NO GAPS anymore!
That stuff they put on their door is CRAP! Peel and stick products are made for knuckleheads who like to do projects over and over again. I would use a V-strip....although it is peel and stick it is made of vinyl so you can "double attach" with a staple gun. Cheap foam will last 2 years tops........vinyl V-strip will last over 10+years. You decide?
