  • Sounds good, but she needs to bring her pitch down a bit. Her pitch is too high and sounds out of tune.

  • She's right on the money relative-pitch-wise. We're down a half-step (I think) from the original. You're probably used to hearing a guy sing it instead of a girl. That difference can throw you off. -Miles

  • I loved this! Just got home from my gig and I did this song for the first time with my band tonight. What a nice grove you all have! Thanks you!

  • Thanks! Corie isn't around anymore generally (she's my daughter, and moved away after graduating college last year). But this last Saturday she was visiting and joined our gig for the first time in a long time, and this is one of the songs we did. Lots o' fun!

The guitar playing is right on the money, especially the melody. Listening to her sing, and taking into consideration what you said I think you are right. She has a good voice. I love this song, I play it on my drums a lot, so I am used to it at a slightly faster tempo. No one will ever sound like the original Three Dog Night, but you came close. I really enjoyed watching it. I appreciate your reply, because if you hadn't replied I wouldn't have given it a second listen.

  • I'm working on a one-string alternate tuning that makes it sound more like 3DN's guitar, but I don't think it's the key you mentioned above. -Miles
