CRICKET---NOT A WORLD GAME, CRICKET RECORDS--NOT WORLD RECORDS, CRICKETERS---NOT WORLD PLAYERS

WORLD DOES NOT PLAY CRICKET LIKE IT DOES PLAY SOCCER OR OLYMPICS.Countries like India,Pakistan and Sri Lanka etc. are mad for Cricket because they do not have any significant place in Olympics or Soccer, which are actually games of world level.

To find a solace, they have taken refuge in a False World Game---CRICKET.

The struggle of Cricket is not struggle of world level.In future it is quite possible that very many other countries start playing CRICKET ACTIVELY & INTERESTINGLY, Until then it is wrong to say that Cricket is A World Game or Records of Cricket --World Records or Players of Cricket --Players of World Level.

dilshan,Cricket or any other Game ,there should be a standard,below that standard that game could be played,enjoyed but could not be called a Game of "WORLD LEVEL".

Roughly,I took Olympics as that standard.But I feel a recheck might be needed,perhaps there also some other less popular games might be enjoying the Title of "WORLD GAME".

Cricket is low on popularity compared to other sports but it's not a sport that's not a sport played in just 10 nations.There are 10 Full members,32 Associate members and 106 affiliate members.It is indeed played worldwide

dude you are somehow right & somehow wrong, when it is said cricket world records or world cup whatever, it means only in the cricket world, cricket was instroduced by the british and they made it popular in their colonial state like India,australia,some african countries and few other countries. cricket are not played in develped countries because the british does not rule over them.

For your information Australia were 5th in the medals tally in olympics and Britain were 4th. And yet you say no one cares about cricket??? cmon mate...its the culture of the respective countries that dictates the importance of the sport. 2) Now the Aussies and the English play the Ashes, Its the most coveted trophy and one of the most fiercely-contested international cricket events. Even people who don’t follow cricket much as a general rule, pay serious attention when the test matches come along, every other year. Every man women and child in Australia cares about only one thing?? The Ashes! Now tell me you think australia or UK dont do well in other sports.

Well Mate...Two things

1) Its not a phsychological thing at all. Somehow our best sportsmen are from cricket. Its the quality of the sportsmen which dictates how the sport should do in a country and also the deep rooted history of the country also plays a part. You shouldnt forget the fact that India is a young country unlike USA or china or Russia and the cricketing culture comes from the british people. Now tell me, are we having Baseball in our country?
