Opeth's Damnation showcased a different face of the band, but with the same melancholic-melodic sound that put them up there. And now they're doing it again? Great! Heritage is better than a whole bunch of screamo shit around.

People! Don't argue what genre certain songs belong to. It doesn't matter! If someone asks what type of music it is, just say it's "Opeth type music". If you use all the genres to describe what Opeth plays, it becomes meaningless. They are just arbitrary terms that our loved music does not have to fir nicely into.

@HemeHaci Yeah just look at Metallica XD But I do completely agree with you. Heritage is my favourite album by them.
-
Double standard!!! They are BOTH prog. Damnation was not a metal record in the same vein that Blackwater Park was.
-
@chuckawobbly damnation was metal. Not growling doesn't mean not metal this is doom metal, and Heritage is un metal that album is progressive rock and i'm not saying that Heritage sucks i love that album but it is no metal at all
-
RIGHT>??!!? I do not understand how some idiots have said Heritage is opeth turning "un metal" etc blah blah... Did they forget to buy Damnation??

opeth always quality congratulations to the perfect ones !

@Arachnidius Which part of this song is metal exactly? Not every song a metal band makes would be metal. They don't sign a contract or something 'only to make metal songs exclusively'.

@mermaidk Trivium has Shattering The Skies Above on their deluxe edition. They could've if they wanted to.
I wish this would've never been on a video game soundtrack. It would've been perfect on Heritage, it's rightful place. Opeth can do no wrong.

Damnation was an all clean vocal record so people just need to calm the fuck down and enjoy this for what it is, Good Music.
