Music: In this Place taken from Big Country's Peace in our Time album.

Video: Slides and character stills taken from Series One of Deadwood, one of the best TV series ever. If you haven't seen it, then please do so, it is amazing.

Any hopes of a Series 4 or a short movie to finish the tale were dashed when I read they had dismantled the set, I think thats where I got the idea for the song from 'coming down stone by stone' . . . .

Anyway, this is very self indulgent and my thanks must go to Calamity Dan whose quality stills are used in this video. Free to download at his site www.calamitydan.com

  • never seen an episode of deadwood but if it can be accompanied by a big country track....i will have to look into this.

  • @sinister066 - You can't go wrong. Deadwood was head and shoulders better than anything on TV in the last thrity years. It's a blessing and a curse it stopped at only three series. A blessing because it kept the story pure and fresh and a curse because it was so damn good and was suddently no more. Honestly, treat yourself to the DVD's, ignore the gratuitous swearing and violence and you'll see pure poetry! 'nuff gushing now :)

  • Never thought I would find someone who also liked my two favourite things, Deadwood and Big Country. You sir are a person of impeccable taste.I have every season of DW on DVD. We really must have a beer sometime."it's only wild bill Hickock you got stalled here in the muck....ya ingnorant F*&^%in C*&^ts" poetry, not other way to describe it. Stuart would have loved this show.

  • Glad you liked it!

I've done a fe wBC vids now but this one I didnt think would work for most people as I was indulging my Deadwood passion. I love that show. Think I'll put up season two so look out for that.

And yep, always up for a beer!

  • miss u stuart beautiful song

  • @CarlBewley Hi Carl, another reason Stuart would have loved this show, I read in the safety net DVD liner notes that they did a radio interview in Deadwood back in 93 (I think), Bruce already talks like Al from what I can gather,

  • always loved this song, still cuts deep after all these years.Thank you Stuart, you had the measure of my soul. Thanks Carl for posting.

  • that was my song back in the day...

    rip Stuart

  • Somehow I think these two things go together. Stuart was very aware about the struggles of the common man (person) and life out here in South Dakota wasdefinitely a truggle for many during these years.

    well done

  • Well done. This is one of my favouite songs and always gets me in a way that only Stuart can

  • gorgeous!

  • "borgatano1" a truer word has never been spoken. I do think if Big Country had gotten to showcase their talents at "Live Aid" in '85 it would have been a different senario altogether. This was the big break for a lot of groups at the time. It transformed them into supergroups.Sadly the guysa missed this oppertunity.
