pius xii was a prisoner in the vatican. he was unable to leave for the entire war. there were nazi snipers waiting to kill him if he tried to leave. he was forced by the ss to sign things under threat of death. he could have refused and be martyred but then he wouldnt have been able to save 700,000 jews. its been popular to demonize the catholic church. pius xii did more to save jews while being a prisoner himself. had he refused to submit to the ss. he would have been executed.

When I received the Pius XII scout award, I got it at on the feast day of St.John Baptist de la salle, and from what I learned, it was Pius XII who named him the patron of teachers during his reign. Talk about little day to day miracles ^^
St.John De la salle, and Pope Pius XII, pray for us!

But the academic evidence is against him! Read John Cornwell's "Hitler's Pope". Also set his record against the idea of infallibility. Clearly, here there's fallibility in depth! It's a case of church first and formost.

The Church spins the truth on Pius XII just like the sex scandals. God and Christ mean nothing to the Catholic church.....only the power of the Pope and the Church matter.

Pray for Beatification Venerable Pio XII!

Not only did Pius XII do all described here, he was nearly involved in the assassination attempt on Hitler's life.

The thing is, if the world had listened to Pius XII re: Hitler, we would have been chuck of him long before we were. The conspirators w/ Stauffenberg, many of whom were also Catholic, were in contact w/ Pius XII. They hoped he could arrange collaboration w/ allied intelligence services. This was refused. It was the influence of the Soviets who kept this from happening. A premature defeat of Hilter would have denied Stalin his new territory.

church is shamless....let us remebr that Pius XII the pope sent in 1941 a letter to SS and put his own signature under 'heil hitler'.... in 1941 they knew what was happenig in concetration camps...

Is it possible to suffer martyrdom after death? All the dead have is their reputation. Those who have sought to kill his reputation have attempted a more grievous act of murder then those who can only destroy the body. Cornwell has basically renounced his slanders in his Hilter's Pope book. The Church should canonize him so as to lay the slanders to rest forever.
