Hi everyone.
I've just received another youtube warning. It's either the 5th, 6th if not 7th time it's happened.
Suprisingly though I've only had one video muted which was Kiara - I'm Not That Girl (From the Musical 'Wicked')
And since everyone else is coming up with solutions I thought I'd explain what I'm doing which seems to be working.
(Yes I've just realised I've made that appear twice, this was only a very very quick video)
Click on My Videos (follow the arrow...)
Find the affected video & click Resolve Copyright
**Okay that has also appeared twice. The second it should say 'CLICK ON DISPUTE CLAIM'**
Select option 2 as your reason for the dispute and my example of how to explain says...
'The videos I make are purely fan based and I do not gain any profit from any of my videos.'
Then type your full name as your signature
And copy the Statement Of Good Faith
Click Submit Dispute
Ok
Your claim dispute has been submitted...
A minute or two later the video is back online
However!...
This DOES NOT mean your video is 100% safe
You will have to wait and eventually you will get a message/email/notification/something that says either...
The copyright *claim* has been removed or the owner(s) have gone ahead with their claim. (or a similar message)
If they do go ahead with their claim Youtube will give you the other Resolve Copyright options.
I think that's it.
If you have any questions just ask me.
Please send this to anyone who is affected by copyright claims.

  • Doesn't work

  • youtube needs to ease up on his copyright crap, cuz once i tried to make a my top 5 songs type of vid and they muted the audio on me saying it "matched 3rd party content" yet if you look around youtube you'll find the songs i used listed by other people and not muted, seriously WTF youtube, ease up on us

  • @cole15miller I have the same problem.

  • i have a queation i heard that putting a song on youtube without owner permission is not prohibitead waht about a portion of a song ex tye frieza ringtone full version, would that count as copyright?im ont sure?

  • @mrkk666 I think they make em up to get money

  • HERE IS THE TRUTH

If you put up a vid thats not yours on youtube, yes its copyright infringement. BUT if you put it in the description the whole DISCLAIMERS thing, u shouldnt get penalized for it. PLUS people arent stupid. I think they know whats yours and what belongs to an animator and or music artist. so stop taking off stupid videos that people even say isnt theirs and just uploaded it. WE KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A VID BY THE CREATOR AND A VID BY THE UPLOADER. THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE

  • does this work on audio books

  • lol doctor who music

  • @cole15miller If the video is made completely by you and someone filed a copyright claim, you can go to the dispute form to restore your video. However, if you used EVEN ONE LITTLE THING that is protected by a copyright holder and you file a dispute, it can result in termination. Be careful, YouTube can be a real jackass when it comes to copyright. Hope this helped.

  • why do they say i stole copyright even though its my video
