The biggest problem I have with putting healthcare in the hands of the government:
Right now there are still too many religious freaks in the country, and many in high positions. Medical doctors also allow their religious views to influence who they treat. So if the government does have control of the healthcare, then the religious nuts get into power, they can still change things for the worse just because of their religious stupidity. That scares the shit out of me, and would be worse than now
