Ah, I see what that is all about now when the rescue services on TV ask for a grid reference. I will keep these videos handy as a reference and guide in my attempt at learning land navigation. Brilliant that Graham :)
Thanks Ang

That makes it easy to understand, this will be helpful for those that don't understand how to do this. You say that your using a "Ordnance Survey Map" here, with letters for each different map. Our USGS Topographic maps don't have letters for each sheet, they use names and grid coordinates. The letters would be a lot easier......LOL. Leave it to our govt to make things harder than it has to be.....LOL. Take Care :-))

@SurviveN2 thanks bud , i did try to describe the procedure to make it as easy as possible to understand as many find map and compass work so confusing but in reality it is quite simple , and yes i think the OS sheet indexing is a good system , thanks for your comment

This is great Graham, you make something I found difficult to understand very easy, explained so clearly. Thanks .

@007vauxhall thanks paul , i have had many comments like this on all my map and compass vids , something explained and demonstrated slowly and in detail and in an easy to understand way gets the message across
