In October 2007 I was fortunate enough to spend two days in Washington whilst visiting from Australia. As a huge fan of 'The Exorcist' I had to stop at some known spots and take some video. This clip juxtaposes the vision I took with vision from the film in an effort to depict the similarities and differences that have evolved over the decades. I had a great afternoon and for a brief time felt like a small part of 'The Exorcist' mythology (I had to include a cameo of myself to put my personal stamp on it too).

  • I'm in DC for the summer and planning to visit Georgetown, and the M Street steps, tomorrow! Breakfast at LaMadeleine first.

  • Awesome, you'll love it. It's great that so many of the filming locations are close together and you can pretty much tour the whole movie if you want to!

Check out wwwDOTmovie-locationsDOTcom for some more info (won't let me post proper URL).

  • the islamic voice doesn't fit in this video

  • The music is lifted straight from the soundtrack. There weren't many recognizable themes left after each location was assigned one...

  • I noticed when you compare 2:44 with 2:50 that it has a shortened roof and it's missing the left side of the building. Are you 100 percent certain that it's the right place.

  • The additions you mention were facades created for the film. Regan's bedroom window was not actually part of the real building!

  • Great video, loved it :)

  • Very nicely put together video. Cheers! Look forward to visiting Washington DC from the UK at some point. Also how creepy it was that you got a shot of children crossing the road to the Exorcist house! lol

  • I wish I have chance to visit Georgetown some day.

  • @deweytrux its cause in the film they built on an extra part of the house so that regans bedroom was faceing in the direction of the stairs this is rlly what the house looks like b4 they adde don the stuff for the film same with the roof

  • The M Street Steps should be a National Heritage site. What a shame if someone ever tore them down.

  • @hoody232 the singing/chanting you here in the video, takes place the first 5-10 minutes of the movie

  • @clemenza1234 i've watched it like 5 times in my life, but never i never noticed it :/

  • @hoody232 it's a reoccurring theme of the movie. maybe you should try watching it, sometime.

  • Is that a work-out regimen written on the steps? lol

  • I was Just in Georgetown 3 days ago and I visited the Steps and The House. I did that at night and it creeped me out.

I took Pictures and posted the photos on my Facebook. Both the House and the Stairs. But those I took during the day.
