  • You my friend are either misinformed or getting your information from a rotten source. We all have a temper, so what we're human; no big deal. But he was not anti-semetic. That's one of -the- stupidest rumors in history!

  • Walt used to say that the beauty of Disneyland was that it would never be finished. He always intended for the park to be updated and expanded. Sure, I miss some of the old attractions, but if they kept everything the same, it would eventually cease being an amusement park and become a museum of nostalgia; what a drag.

  • @ExMachina70 I'm with you there! They could have updated the ride with the movie elements and made it much more subtle and fitting, but as it is right now it feels like they're disregarding the theme and story of the ride in order to shove Jack Sparrow down our throats.

  • Did you know that the Captain on the Sailing Ship Columbia (the one in the blue suit that breaks open the rum barrel with his sword and dances) in the attraction's opening ceremony is actually the late, great Wally Boag?

Yes, the same Wally Boag that performed in the Golden Horseshoe Revue and voiced Jose the Tiki Bird.

  • disneyland is like a second heaven

  • @carly3592 I agree that Walt would have wanted POtC to get updated, but the "Where's Jack Sparrow" theme really gets annoying to watch.

  • Anythings possible at Disneyland <3

  • I find it unbelievable how the tone and editing of this is a bit dated, yet the rides themselves are timeless.

  • What a cute way of opening up the ride for the first time! That would have been great to see.

  • For Walt Disney to think of all of this...and use all of this technology--for all of the rides--he's pure genius! I'd give anything to see some of the original things put into these rides that aren't there anymore...and to see the grand openings of them.

  • I am so envious of anyone who lives near these parks!! I've been to DL and WDW several times and it NEVER gets old.
