why did no one get him into treatment?

@pookiewook It seems people did try. There is a story that his agent insisted he attend a few meetings with alcoholics anonymous, and he did; but claimed he wasnt there for himself but to enquire about rehab facilities and counciling for friends he considered to be in need of help. By most accounts River had a tough time admitting he had a problem at all, and he deflected further by organising and paying for friends treatments. Hard to help someone in denial i guess..

She literally cartwheeled over him? What? LITERALLY? Why would you cartwheel over someone who is dying? So disrespectful. You call an ambulance, you do NOT cartwheel over someone.

I think River was given bad drugs. I know that all drugs are 'bad', but you know what I mean. How did River come out so cute and Joaquin so scary looking?

@pookiewook No rehab or treament of any kind will work until the person either admits they have a problem and needs help to overcome it or has the desire to get off them completely and leave that life behind. Until that happens it wont work.It is a very hard thing to accomplish and the quickest way to derail it is to not want it, to be attempting it for the wrong reasons(others). Even if his family or friends had gotten him into treatment, he would not have STAYED clean unless it was his choice.

@rikki444 have you read the book, Hunting with Barracudas by Chris Snyder? he was an agent/associate with Iris Burton, responsible for guiding River's (and family) career. There's good insight into River's volatile state of mind in the first handful of chapters. its a good read.

@pookiewook he didnt do drugs everyday.. he rarely did drugs,, the thing was , when he did do them, he did unordinay amounts.. deadly amounts.. it was his escape, he hated being a celebrity, he hated fame, he hated that everyone wanted to know about his girlfriend, and all this shit , when there was inhumanities going on.. he was always miserable
