About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

  • 3:40 The question that she asked couldn't have been more dangerous. First of all, most people don't know that the United States is a Republic, not a Democracy. Why? Just as the founding fathers said in the Federalist Papers (I think it was #10 but I don't remember 100%), with a Democracy you run the risk of tyranny by the majority. Well, if you asked that question then in a large part of the country you would have people establishing schools based on their religious faith. That is SO DANGEROUS!
