The Scientist: L/Light.

Success! I tried to render this several times but it would always freeze. So Laura told me to render two halves and then render it again. It took a while, but it's done!

I know, this video was started November 9th 08, and was finished on Saturday, February 20th. (I'm lazy, deal!)

This song is very beautiful to me and when I first heard it and decided to make a video for it, my inspiration died out. However, after finished Poison Apple, I had the will to complete it. (It's ridiculous how similar this song relates to that story..)

Basically, the story is that after Light kills L, he is swallowed in grief and remorse for what he did. He is tormented so much that he believes that L is haunting him. And all he wishes, all he wants, is for time to reverse and stay in the time where everything was perfect. Where they were best friend, and loved each other. But it's not that easy.

The quote at the end is directly taken from "Poison Apple." From Chapter ... meh, I'm too lazy to check and find out. But that line always breaks my heart and it matches how Light is meant to feel in this story. I hope I showed that well enough. But, this video kinda sucks soo...Oh! And I changed the pitch. So YT can't mute and/or delete. That's why it may sound weird to you. Nothing drastic. Last thing, I do not own the photos at the end. Just there to fufill my deep wishes. Haha. (Lame joke)

"Do you hate me?" Light asked softly, reaching for him.

L glanced at him, both of his eyes black and lifeless, restored by death.

"No." he said. Then, it was like...Light had the strength to die when he knew that L was always going to be by his side! And no father or boundary could break the bond that they had created!! And--Oh...hold on, I'm getting kind of emotional. I'll stop now. I loved the video. I cried...T~T

It's only because I was forcing it back that I didn't cry outright; I can't remember when I was last affected this much by an amv. It's a credit to your talent there damn you ;)

The part that affected me most here was when Light was running/sees his younger self and the lyrics about going back to the start were just..tragically perfect.

Even without the Light/L element this would have been beautiful. As it is it's definitely a fav.

Thank you btw, and the bit at 3:30 when it goes "I'm going back to the start" and Light's running, literally means that Light is (I guess... figuratively) running to the 'start' where everything was perfect.

I thought of L and light when I heard this too!!!! I love this song and quite frankly poison apple is my favorite.... Well whatever it is I like it better than anything I have ever read. Ever. And I read alllllllllllllllllll the time I wish I knew robinrocks or narroch or something I don't even know but anyway I'm reading it again and I'm considering printing it and making a book thing ( for myself :P)
