Butler's Archived hydroponics vertical grow from HG420 February 2006 The EcoSystem is a purpose built vertical growing chamber It retails in the U.K. for around GBP 2200.

• Plastic Injection moulded growing structure with two access doors ensuring easy plant maintenance
• Suitable for 2 x 400/600W lights (I chose 2 x 600s but I've heard reports that the system works better with 400s !!)
• Optimum lighting of plants thanks to an air cooled tube aligned vertically through the centre of the system
• Integrated 80 litre reservoir in the base of the system
• Integrated ventilation system
• Plants are grown in 20 x rockwool slabs that are suspended vertically. These were included with the system
• Continuous irrigation
• 80-200 plant capacity
• Powerful pump with delivery/irrigation system
• 2 x E40 lamp holders with power cords terminating in an E.I.C. fittings
• Available without or without bulbs and ballast
• Dimension: (LxWxH) 122 x 122 x 168cm

I first started experimenting with the EcoSystem in 2005 as I wanted to maximize the very limited space available to me in a good friends attic.

My first attempt used 99 cuttings (approximately 5 cuttings per slab) (Strains - Cindarella, PowerPlant and Mazar) and I yielded 39 ounces. I am quick to concede that I had not even began to realise the potential of the system as, even at the end of flowering, it appeared not to be filled anywhere near to capacity.

So this growroom diary begins with my second attempt, using 144 cuttings.
(Mainly PowerPlant and Chronic)

  • DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON ONE OF THESE!!!!!!! THE AMOUNT OF SPACE YOU NEED TO GROW YOU CUTTINGS (140-200) IS MORE THAN ENOUGH TO PUT A TENT THERE PLUS THE SPACE FROM THE ECOSYSTEM . TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY
