*UPDATE*

I found a lot of helpful tips on this website: http://www.playtool.com/pages/troubleshooting/intro.html

I underclocked my GTX280 video card with the EVGA Precision program which seemed to stop this error. I have reduced the "Core Clock" and "Shader Clock" with the program. They normally run at 602MHz and 1296MHz respectively but I lowered them to 500MHz and 1076MHz. I hope this helps!

I get this crash whenever I play BF3 and Skyrim.
If I find a solution to this problem I will post it.
Here is the error:

  • nothing wrong with your card,I have same issue and its because of driver Nvidia 285.38 BETA,and u cant fix problem by rolling back to older driver,I would reinstall windows and also maybe bios flash to the card give little over clock like me,ITs stupid for nvidia to do this to everyone using older 200's cards to make everyone think their actually going bad when not. I bet this driver will make nvidia another billion dollars because everyone going to get new card because they think broken lol.

  • no wrong brocken video card allready change :),now problem with update jst

  • it seems the only solution although it seems strange it is the technical of the OVEN. Dissamble the video card and put it into de oven, for ten minutes 200 degress. Search on the web it is no a joke.

  • i have the same problem, it is very strange. I shut down the computer, and turn on it again moving the PC to another position and after that it works, al the day!!! I have windows 32 bits no SP1. I tried old driverds but the same. Underclock the video card, nothing. the games works perfect but the problem it is the firsts times i turn on the computer. ridiculous.
