  • @Aimiklingsor93 In my opinion there is no merit to negative comments about Kaufmann. I have seen him live as well and would only take issue with the "successor to Del Monaco and Corelli" statement. Kaufmann's voice is one that records "large" without being truly large. It is a beautiful, magnificent sound though, particularly in his upper register. He has the perfect mix of brightness and darkness if you will in the upper register to be exciting.

  • Some have lost themselves in too many freaky Halloween parties with longtime dead singers. Aaronsande, you made our day with the spectrograph! Yes, miking can happen... it even has to when an opera is broadcasting.. Micro usually helps to record... Big news! But of course, you are the doctor of sound... and elegance (the handicaped thing is excellent too!). But please do not insinuate Kaufmann's lovely curly hair is false. Nooo, please, this cannot be a wig!

  • Beautiful! Super fine tenor..Bravo!

  • è un buon tenore...ma purtroppo ha una freddezza che non coinvolge l'ascoltatore...in questo caso me stesso

  • @athemag and he speaks great english :)

  • @bluluvsrae Kaufmann is unique :))) and JDF. as regards nowadays tenors :)

  • @sisifus100 it is not a bad idea to compare Kaufmann to Corelli. Today he is the tenor who deserves this comparison the most probably :))))

    ich bin auch froh :)

  • @mistatomsom actually--- technically, a# and Bb are different notes... think of how they are tuned on a string instrument... if you are thinking of a piano, then yes they are the same key, but thats due to equal temperament

  • @moorfan1 Totally correct and rational. I have heard him live and this is also my impression.

  • @bpb71 I can assure you his lovely hair is not a wig; I have met him and have a picture to prove that that is indeed what his hair looks like.

  • @Honken

    haha, well His is a B#. it's just a German terminology. ;)

  • @mistatomsom

Ah, you are correct! My teacher uses this system but I've never bothered to learn it because to me it makes absolutely no sence. He even talks about there being a "Hiss" which in Swedish translates to elevator, making it even more ridiculous than it already is haha.
