Over the weekend of June 19 - 20, 2010, Gary & Marilyn Siegel opened both model railroads (the indoor HO Scale L&N Eastern Kentucky Division - see other video - and the outdoor G-gauge Southern Pacific Santa Cruz Division) to more than 300 guests, for benefit of the Parkinson Association of Santa Barbara. The SP saw as many as six consists on the division at a time, multiple crews over the 2 days, and leased power from many foreign roads including the Santa Fe, Sierra Railroad, the Pennsy and the Alaska providing much of the tonnage. Structures provided by members of the Gold Coast Garden Railroad Society were adopted for the weekend.

  • Are all of those small tress real plants?

  • @rhbeadlejr Yep, they all are. Over 1100 Dwarf Alberta Spruce, all hand planted, hand pruned and watered with a hose. Gary had a drip irrigation system in his plans.

Over this past weekend, he enlisted one of the group member's wives to trim trees. Over the 2 days I think she was able to complete a half dozen. You'll hear her invite our one of out junior members to join her in this video.
