No it isn't. In this version you find chaos emeralds in regular stages, not special stages. And this version only has 2 acts in each zone (not counting the boss) and Eggman doesnt have his checker ball here, and the second zone in the Genesis wasn't underground and it had no water. I could go on and on. Please, think correctly before you speak.

@jonnybaddazz: You get to go to the bonus levels when you have anywhere in between 50 and 99 rings at the end of every round.
