Hi, everyone! At the April 2011 Virtual Crop on The Beach, I decorated just one bag of my paper bag album based on Kathy Orta's design. That's not a whole lot of progress, but what I did do sure looks pretty!

To see the bag coming together, check out these UStream recordings from the crop:

Part Two: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/13731562

  • hi Kathryn! I would love to make that paper album but i sure have a few questions for you...eventhough I watch your videos and tutorials over and over, I am still a little confused here, where do I begin? Should I decorate the bags before starting to glue the flaps and things? or after everything is glued? you mentioned that i could use eyelets, but I realised that one side of the eyelet looks better than the other side...what do you do then? thanks for your help! Jo :)

  • @jozazoo You glue the flaps down after all the bags have been covered with paper. I covered all the bags, flaps, etc., with paper and then glued the flaps into pockets. Then I did the embellishing. As for eyelets, the front of the eyelet will always look better than the back. That's just the nature of the product, unfortunately. I put the front of the eyelet on the front of the paper bag so it will be consistent throughout. I hope that helps!

  • I went to Ustream to watch your videos, but it said nothing is archived and showed that there is nothing scheduled.

  • @Merfrmtx My UStream name and YouTube name are different. I put links to the recordings for this paper bag in the description on this video, so you can click those and it will take you to the right place! Sorry for the confusion.

  • Hi Quick question - for the little tag attached to the pocket with the paperclip - do you back these with anything ? Thanks!!!!

  • @99Alexj99 Yes, I backed the little diecut with ledger paper so I could write on the back.

    Take care!

    Jo

  • @J0anne2403 I can't say for sure, but my guess is that these stacks will be very similar to the Mariposa paper stack. It was available only in the US in JoAnn's store for a time, but it eventually was sold Internationally as well. In the meantime, you could check eBay for these paper pads to see if anyone is selling them there. :D Good luck on the hunt!

  • Beautiful mini! Love the papers!! TFS!!

  • pulling my hair out over those dcwv stacks as i cant find them here in the uk, if anyone knows if/when they will be available or anyway i can get them id appreciate hearing from you, thx Jo
