At the time we did not know that touching it was a bad idea, or we never would have.

  • It ran off. We hope the mother found it, but we don't know for sure.

  • were you paintballing?

  • Yea we were getting ready to when we found it. We didn't want to stumble or step on the poor thing, or we probably would never have messed with it.

  • I think the human sent theory has been disproved. You did the right thing and actually I think the little Deer was playing 'Possum' until it knew for sure that you were friendly creatures.

    Good Job!

  • leg him not back I dit dangerous by the smell from you the mam not more accepted ( he gone dead )

  • According to many animal conservation websites, it is NOT true that a mother deer will abandon her baby because of human scent. Carolina Wildlife Care and Kentucky Wildlife Center both state that.

That being said. Mother deer leave their babies like that all the time so mommy can feed without predators seeing the babies.

Cute baby and I'm glad you guys found it before paintballing and not during! :)

  • @zaccaria932 wtf are you saying the mother goes back

  • Your terrible people.

  • Shouldn't have petted it... A doe can smell the scent of anything different of their fawn... and if they find something different about their fawn they may leave it and not feed it or anything... Second deer eat a number of things..: Shrubs, corn, berries, grass, small tree tips, apples, fruit, stuff like that, but one as young as that you need to feed by a bottle, warm cream until the spots grow out.

  • its food is milk

Fawn:ME WANT MILKY lol XD very cute though
