This is a demonstration of the Marshall JCM2000 DSL100 Head, boosted with
the classic 80's metal pedal PROCO Rat 2.
The reason behind this video is to demonstrate that you can accomplish a really nice and heavy tone out of the amp even at bedroom levels, if boosted correctly with a pedal. (I want to point out that I also use a BOSS NS-2 Noise Gate)
As you can hear, there's some prominent noise from my picking on the strings. Maybe that can give one the idea of how low the volume level was on the amp :-)
Various Thrash riffs!
Amp settings:
Channel B (Ultra Gain), Tone Shift mode
Presence 8, Treble 7, Mid 3, Bass 8, Reverb 4, Volume 0.5, Gain 4
Proco Rat 2 settings: Volume Full, Filter 0, Distortion at 8 o'clock (very low)
Guitar: Schecter Damien Elite 7 (equipped with EMG's)
Cab: Peavey 5150 Slant
+ BOSS NS-2 (Noise Gate)
Forgive me for the sound quality, this is not a proper recording (Shot with my iPhone camera and microphone), but I hope you get the idea!
The guitar got a little out of tune in the latter part of the video. I didn't bother to tune it while recording, sorry! Hope we all can live with that.
Hope you like it. :-)
Sounds extremely good for thrash though.
