@xxtasfiaxx I think society as a whole needs it!

@rainpurple88 It's wonderful to hear your preference for one complexion over the other- but this preference discriminates, just as the reverse.

I am Bengali. I love shamla girls. they are the best looking kind of girls in the world!

You are truly an inspiration. Thank you so much for your speech. Some people really needed it.

i'm going to Bangladesh in two weeks and the hot Australian sun has tanned me to epic proportions. I know i'll get "shamla" comments from my family the only problem being I don't know how to articulate myself well enough in the Bangladeshi language to educate them on why they think the way they do =(

@HemikaDestroy honestly, just ignore their comments. theres a fine line between being respectful and disrespectful and you're better off just smiling and staring at them blankly and not letting their unwarranted comments get to you.

Thank you so much for making this video. Skin complexion is a discussion made among many of my friends (across cultures). As a Bangladeshi- "shemla" woman- I hear this- more when I was younger. But, I've learned to appreciat my own beauty. This isn't a post about how darker girls are prettier or preference to date them (as some comments below state). I love your message of reflection and finding the true reason of insecurity. Thank you again for bringing this topic to light. Best wishes.
