Azstheman, I agree with your comment that Phil's natural voice is as good as his falsetto. At times, he sounds like Maurice White, except a couple pitches higher.

However, I don't agree with you in that Eddie Kendricks is a better singer than Philip Bailey. Kendricks' range doesn't even come close to Phil's. And if you want examples, the two albums he released in 1984 (one secular, one gospel) will be my witnesses. His voice reaches operatic heights at times. Eddie couldn't do that.

Wow... it's cool that I happened to stumble upon this. I was just listening to this song on cd yesterday, and it was so good that I played it twice! Phil looks like Morris Day in that clip with his hair all slicked back. LOL. But he's throwing down with the percussion. He's pretty talented to that AND sing in falsetto at the same time.

If you listen to ewf songs carefully you will recognise many times. his falsetto is only complete with this normal tune then and eny before.
