Explosive H2O: Saiga 12 shotgun slugs the jugs

20 one gallon jugs of water get hit by 12 gauge shotgun slugs from a variety of angles. Big watery explosions result. Once out of jugs, the shotgun's attention is turned to its old friends, the wooden pallets.

Gun: A Russian made Saiga 12 Gauge Shotgun, 19 inch barrel (smooth bore), with several aftermarket USA made parts installed. Ammo: 12 Guage Lee 1 Ounce Drive Key Slugs that I cast and handloaded myself. My slugs actually weigh 485gr (not 437.5gr) and my chronograph shows them having an average muzzle velocity of 1251 fps.

just a cheapass Leapers red dot. Don't waste your money on one.

Its broken, the dot started to get bigger and lose zero just from use on my MKIII 22cal pistol. So I threw it on this shotgun to finish it off. Its got multiple shadows of dots now and the switch doesnt work right anymore. lol.

I learned the hard way, after breaking a few sights. I dont buy cheap optics anymore. My most recent was and EOtech 512, very happy with how its performing on my 308, ill probably get one for this gun too

No, I didn't cut an inch off my barrel. Without the stock choke, it's around 17.5 inches. I put on a pretty Poly-Choke on it to stay compliant (and because it looks BADASS!). I also have the aftermarket AK style iron sights for it (availible at Saiga-12dawtcom). Fixed front flip rears are really nice (my bud has them on his), I never put the front one on because I can see it in my scope. It's the way to go with irons, though!

@orionknight12 Nice, I wish they put AK sights on the shotguns instead of these pistol like sights. Or at least the sights were easily removable. Did you cut an inch of your barrel?

@Noobpatty I can keep Rem Sluggers on a pie plate all day at 100 yards with my Saiga 12 18" barrel with a 2x scope. It's actually one of the reasons I bought one!
