FYI-The people talking and the video camera are standing on the front porch of city hall in Brattleboro, Vt where the view of Mt. Wantasequit is the best. Between the people and the mountain on fire is the Connecticut River which divides the two states; since NH owns the river, the mountain is in NH, but the people and video camera are in Vermont. Bob

Hey I was on that mountain! I'm one of the many many many firefighter who came from the area to put this fire out, our dept had a crew up their from around 5:30 Monday afternoon till 6:30am Tuesday morning. Then went back Wensday afternoon for a couple ours to help with clean-up. I'll tell ya, climbing that mountain is not fun, esspecially when its on fire. Haha.

we went up over last weekend to see it and it was quite striking. The blackened ground contrasted with the newly blooming trees made for a rather surreal environment. Thanks to all of you who climbed up there and helped to put it out.

Not really because Baby's On Fire...
Actually it took personnel from a dozen different fire companies about 6 hours to put most of it out.
