This salute is a way to show homage and gratitude to the Taiji practitioners who have come before us and developed and transmitted the art to us. I learned the salute from Lawrence Karol of the Tung-family lineage in the early 1990's but have modified it to fit with the feel of Ruyu-style Taijiquan. I close my classes with this salute.
