Boom De Ya Da! - My Tribute to Discovery Networks.

This is the first video I have ever created. I have used my extensive collection of documentary films, and used downloaded content when I couldn't help it. I was introduced to most of these wonderful films by Discovery Networks. To the extent possible, I used what has been aired by Discovery Networks. I hope you like it. :)

This starts with a radio conversation between the pilot and co-pilot of a MiG-25U as they see our planet from the edge of space. The MiG-25 'Foxbat' (along with the similar MiG-31) is the world's highest flying aircraft and the fastest fighter plane.

CLEAR BLUE SKIES: A stunning take-off by Jim Leory who died last year. This is my tribute to pilots everywhere, and to the love that the beauty of flight inspires. :)

BIG BRIDGES: Fire ants build a bridge with their own bodies. This bridge is BIG in more ways than one. ;)

GREAT WHITES FLY: The "great white" here is an A380 (world's biggest commercial aircraft) demonstrating a steep take-off at the Farnborough Air Show.

LOVE THE WHOLE WORLD: From a video by Youtuber Antzarctica. Antarctica is my favourite place in the world.

SIGHTS AND SOUNDS: 'Reel Around the Sun' - Riverdance, Geneva.

BOOM DE YA DA: La Tomatina festival, Spain.

OCEANS: Humpback whales from Attenborough's The Life of Mammals. It's my favourite series of all time.

REAL DIRTY THINGS: Terrorism and fundamentalism are real dirty things.

GO FAST: The Thrust SSC (supersonic car) breaking the sound barrier for the first time in 1997.

CRAZINESS: Sir David Attenborough's rubber boat with a Blue whale in The Life of Mammals. :)

BOOM DE YA DA: A ballerina dances to Boom De Ya Da. No, really - Swan Lake Odette Variation performed by Lucia Lacarra. USN F-4E taking out a North Vietnamese MiG-17 in History Channel's 'Dogfights: The Bloodiest Day'.

TORNADOES: The GR4 Panavia Tornado is a variable-geometry multi-role aircraft that is pretty effective in a strike role. I thought it would make for a more interesting clip than the more familiar tornado. ;)

ARACHNIDS: A honeybee gets entangled on a spider's web. From Attenborough's 'Life in the Undergrowth'.

GIANT SQUID: A CGI of a giant squid as seen by a Sperm whale, from a special film by Discovery Networks.

BRILLIANT PLACE: Aurora Australis. Again, from Antzarctica's video.

BOOM DE YA DA: A polar bear cub says hello in a surprisingly adult voice, :) a "BOOM DE YA DA" echoes through the Amazon rainforest, a Bird of Paradise dances to the chorus, and more - all from the series 'Planet Earth'.

END: A picture of Home, Sweet Home. :) And a Humpback whale's song. Truly, the world is just awesome. Cheers! :)

Just GREAT stuff! Well done Anupam! For a 'beginner', you've done a fine job... in fact, don't reckon I could have done better! Love this fresh approach - with comments inclusive of all the clips to bring understanding to your perspective, it is a well-rounded range of topics you've covered. My only 'critique' is, that just a few spots are too quick with the edit, and my eyes battled to keep up with the speed of changing clips.. apart from that tiny, weeny editing comment, its JUST BEAUT!
