Richard of Skydive Hawaii puts on an aerial display 3,000 FT above the beautiful Waimanalo coastline riding only the rising trades winds blowing up the rugged Ko'olau cliffs. Paragliding is a recreational and competitive flying sport using a free-flying, foot launched aircraft. The pilot sits in a harness suspended below a fabric wing, whose shape is formed by suspension lines and the pressure of air entering vents in the front of the wing. The wings in this video are called speed wings. They are much different than the paragliders. It's a cross between a paraglider and a skydive canopy. They call it speed flying. Insane!!!
Cool flying for sure... But... that ridge is more like 1500ft! Used to live and fly there a ton! Come on Richard, where are the rolls?
