Not tubby - been doing pilates for over two years. I enjoy most of Jeri's instructions. Just don't feel that this particular one is all that helpful.

how would you suggest to do a similar exercise (without fasting the band to a doornob or hook in the wall) to target the inner side of the same muscles target in this exercise

yes it does! Engage your abs, and do all of the 100 or more exercises with no break in between!!! And you will watch your body become lean seriously! If you're already tubby, your proprioceptions probably not the greatest...but give it time! Pilates bands exercises kick ass!
