People only know about the armed branch of hamas. But do you know that hamas was first of all a social movement?
They are against all form of corruption which is a plague in other arab governements and against usury practice. They build school and provide a lot of public services like street cleaning or sewage. They actually works for the palestinian people, and they defend them against the israeli occupation. That's why they are so popular and respected!
