This is the result of about 3 months of work so far. Everything you see was done by myself only. I concepted it in Zbrush and did a "sculpt sketch", resurfaced with NEX, rigged and animated in MAYA 2008. Still working on color and the tongue and teeth are still not done. This video is sort of an overview of what I've completed so far. All deformation are "bone driven". I plan on doing some in game engine testing with Unreal Engine 3 soon. Thanks for looking.

  • great animation!! ... im new to maya .. i messed around with 3dsmax some time ago, but it never really worked out. maya has a very comfortable workflow but i practice way to little .. im totally into ZBrush now and i cant wait to try maya on it ... these programs are excellent tools but i need alot of practice .. but ya know... im to addicted to AfterFX ..

  • @jodroboxes Thanks. Well, AfterFX and Nuke are great also and there is a whole universe of compositing that I know nothing about.. I guess you just kinda choose your main areas of focus, I like characters and creatures so that's why I do this side of things.

  • what's the best format to export a zbrush model to maya ?

  • @CronoticNG You can only use .obj to bring into Maya from Zbrush.

  • Nice work.

I just notice this guy has got an anus.

Oh yes, more bounce at the tail and at the saddle part of the mouth as well. That will be perfect!

  • Thank you! I have a later version of this called "Creature 009 complete" in my videos that has a more refined animation with added bounce. You are correct.

  • @johnhyater Maya is supposedly the best but also is the most expensive, and blender is free and still pretty good. So it depends what you're looking for.
