Just a note to any nurses and doctors who work in emergency rooms. If a patient comes in with a complete intestine blockage from Crohns, please understand the pain is more intense than any kidney stone or child birth. The only way to reduce the pain is a high dosage of Morphine. Last emergency visit in 2008 was in the waiting room for 5 hours with no pain medicine. Worst experience of my life.

The worst part of this disease is having to know where a bathroom is where ever you go, and to always have a change of clothes with you in your car.
Good Luck to all!

Opiates block you up even more - sure, you need pain relief, but they must also administer something to remove the blockage otherwise it will stay there even longer.
Crohn's since 2005, Morphine/Fentanyl since 2007 and a multitude of other drugs on top of it. They have caused more pain than relief at times, hence why I don't live on a solid diet - 100% liquid, instead.

Just be aware that Opiates cause constipation - as I have had blockages caused by use of opiates with my Crohn's. Ask for a laxative that will counter-effect said contipating effect and then take the treatment from there. But I can say with confidence, that you have certainly not overestimated that pain. It truly is something else.
Keep on keeping on, and all the best.

Yeah wheat is the worst thing for crohns. I honestly think that if some people never ate wheat in there life they would of never developed crohns, or it would of happened many years latter in life.
