Many of Americas top foreign policy scholars and pundits have predicted, even warned of Asias imminent rise as the leading economic power in the world. But writer Minxin Pei begs to differ. In the new issue of Foreign Policy magazine, he punctures the overheated rhetoric and offers a sharp reality check about Asia, where average incomes will still take 77 years to catch up with those in the United States and the continuation of fantastic rates of economic growth are not quite as guaranteed as many would lead you to believe.
Join Minxin Pei and New America Foundations Andrés Martinez for a spirited breakfast conversation on the potential of Asias Rise.

why is the rise of asia a threat? Asians are generally peaceful people. I think this will help to improve the worlds international defense, but will probably destroy the planet faster due to the pace and pollutants it takes to industrialize. Especially by a region with half the worlds population or more.
CCP is changing, it is becoming more and more skillful at the great power game of international politics. It's very adepted at dealing domestic political, economic issues. But Minxin is refusing to change his view on CCP.
