Saut en base jumps vers l'Agartha....

Le Base Jump est une discipline du parachutisme, qui consiste à sauter depuis des objets fixes et non des aéronefs. Il est souvent considéré comme la discipline reine des sports extrêmes. C'est un sport qui mêle en fait de nombreuses autres disciplines : chute libre, parapente, alpinisme, précision d'atterrissage, voltige, etc... La pratique exclusive du Base Jump depuis des falaises se nomme paralpinisme. Il y a en France environ 200 pratiquants réguliers, entre 8 000 et 10 000 dans le monde. La hauteur des objets sautables varie d'environ 50 mètres à plus de 1500 mètres (les temps de chute peuvent alors atteindre 1 minute 30 secondes). Le parachutiste accélère progressivement sous l'effet de la gravité, avant de se stabiliser aux alentours des 200 km/h par les frottements de l'air.

"Base" est l'acronyme pour : pour Building, Antenna, Span bridge and Earth cliff Jump : saut en parachute à partir d'un immeuble, d'une antenne, d'un pont ou de falaise.

En France, le mot Base se prononce généralement à la française bien que son origine soit américaine.

BASE jumping is a sport involving the use of a parachute or the sequenced use of a wingsuit and parachute to jump from fixed objects--with the parachute unopened at the jump (else see paragliding). "BASE" is an apronym that stands for the four categories of fixed objects from which one can jump:

Building
Antenna (an uninhabited tower such as an aerial mast)
Span (a bridge or arch)
Earth (a cliff or other natural formation)
The acronym "BASE" was coined by film-maker Carl Boenish, his wife Jean Boenish, Phil Smith, and Phil Mayfield. Carl was the real catalyst behind modern BASE jumping, and in 1978 filmed the first BASE jumps (from El Capitan, in Yosemite National Park) to be made using ram-air parachutes and the freefall tracking technique. While BASE jumps had been made prior to that time, the El Capitan activity was the effective birth of what is now called BASE jumping. BASE jumping is significantly more dangerous than similar sports such as skydiving from aircraft, and is currently regarded by many as a fringe extreme sport or stunt.

Der Begriff Objektsprung, Objektspringen oder englisch base jumping bezeichnet das Fallschirmspringen von festen Objekten. Das Apronym base steht für die englischen Begriffe building (Gebäude), antenna (Sendemast), span (Brücke) und earth (Felsen). Personen, die diese Sportart ausüben, werden als Objektspringer oder Base Jumper bezeichnet.
