I love this!!! She is fantastique in here, and Hampson looks really well

Interesting that this isn't in her rep any more. I wonder what she would say about why it isn't.

I am not a big fan of susa after working with him, but I think Rene did a great job. I think she does just what susa wants. Seriously, I think his composition is overly complex with unnecessary "meanings" he wants portrayed.

Thank you! I hate how the comment wall for almost every Renee Fleming video becomes a garbage dump with all the trash people throw around.

I agree. I think what singers you prefer is a matter of taste. Personally, Fleming is my favorite. Hear those pianissimos? Amazing. Not many people can do that.

Histrionic acting. She could of moved us but didn't. This is what happens when we go through the motions without connecting to some real feeling in our selves. Has she not watched Maria Callas act and sing? Ms. Flemming is of course an excellent singer but we should of felt pity for the character's desparate situation.

Renee never stops amazing me with the wide vocal range she has, and her incredible use of it. Her jazz album is amazing too. I've never heard a singer so versitle!
But renee fleming can't act things the way Callas would have . . .she can only act with her life and experiences and emotions. It kills me when people act like Callas is the only singer in the history of opera. She could do some things better than anyone else, and she couldn't do some things that Fleming can. It is possible to respect different approaches to music and art without trashing people.
