Shearith Israel, is the oldest Jewish cemetery in the United States. It dates to 1685. It is located in Chinatown at St. James Place, Chatham Square. Special thanks to my assistant Steven Spielberg for his assistance during the making of this video.

  • I stumbled upon this last year while walking and was blown away by how cool it was to see the old Hebrew headstone. Really spectacular in the midst of the city. A treasure indeed.

  • @76BedfordStreet Thanks. It really is an unknown part of New York and Jewish history. I found an article on the web and the article says the cemetary dates back to the days of New Amsterdam and the Dutch settlement of Manhattan.
