I couldn't justify too much money for a camera, so I got the flir i5, two years ago the cheapest you could find it was 2500-2800, now it's down to almost 1500, I think it is a very capable camera for energy audits. They really shine when you have extreme contrasts in temps from outside to inside the envelope and a blower door running.

That is true, but if you seal your home too tight, it can kill you slowly. So maybe like a real energy auditor would, you could mix in the blower door test with the thermal camera so that people with a home at .35 ACH don't get the idea to seal their home tighter. I did all of my plates, and it did make a big difference, but I also knew when to quit at .30ACH. Sealing those plates is one of the best ways to seal a home, but the leakage should be measured just in case.

Hi, very interesting. What equipment are are you using in the video?
Thank you, I use an Infrared Solutions (Fluke) Flexcam R2. This infrared camera works well for my energy auditing business. Very sensitive and accurate. Thanks for watching.
