  • so pearl gouramis can be kept as a single right? cuz i'm planning to only get 1 male pearl gourami.

You have a beautiful tank by the way.

  • Yes, I believe that Pearls are among the least aggressive Gourami's (which is not an aggressive species to start with). I would not put more than two males together though. Perhaps just one would be safer, unless you have a large tank. As usual, YMMV...

  • Thanks for your comments. Currently I have 4x96w of pc light on the tank. Planning to switch to T5 soon.

  • nice!

  • The music is great! So relaxing! What song is it?

I just ordered a pearl today, and Ive never seen one live. Are the males colorful? In all the videos they seem mostly brown/white/black, but I assume they have subtle colors to them in a planted tank with dark substrate?

  • My favorite fish!

  • i love how your harlequin rasboras school... id your pearl already full sized.. or does it get bigger?

  • Whats the difference between the male and female cuz I'm planning on get 2 male and females?

  • @Aqcheercaptain Huh?

  • my platinum gorami is so agressive it chased oscers out of the tank the oscars were 2 times the size of it an the minute i put it in there it started fighting the only other fish in my 50 ga,l is a black nean tetra i put in a gold gorami it had penty of hiding spots but wound up jumping in the filter i took all the fish backk as soon as it happened i dont knoe what to do i dont whant to kill it because iv had that fish for 3 years now and my other fish werent bothered

  • finally a tank I like!

I've seen too many tanks where fishes just swim all around because they've got nothing else to do because there's nothing else in the tank.

here's there's plenty of plants, and fishes can do what they like (hide, rest, swim), they're not just there for show.

    great work!

btw I'm setting up my own tank, I'll have 2 or 3 pearl gouramis, harlequin rasboras, pangios and some shrimps.

  • @RN1888

females are drab and dont have the bright colors of the males. most stores only sell males. if u find females they are sold as female gouramis or females dwarf gouramis.

  • @jeffreyz415 more of a golden chest mate but I can see how it will look red in different light. However lets not argue over colour, the males have a much larger top fin when they develop :D
